Job Summary
Lia’s Wings has developed an excellent reputation for flying children and babies to hospitals, whilst also providing exceptional support to their families. In recent years we have experienced significant growth in our service and we are required to do more for the families we fly and the NHS. We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager to secure over £170,000 annually from grant-making organisations to help grow our air transfer service. We have lots of new opportunities for funding including the expansion of our service overseas, and the formalising of our holistic care offering. We are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser who can harness all of this opportunity to provide significant growth and sustainability for our charity. You will be joining a passionate and ambitious organisation, that works hard to deliver a life-changing service for children and their families.
The charity
Lia’s Wings is a national charity that provides hospital air transfers for children. We ensure that babies and critically ill children can access specialist treatment and care.
Since our inception in 2010, our charity has established a strong reputation for flying babies and children to hospitals in the UK and, increasingly, from abroad. We work in partnership with air ambulance providers and NHS transport teams throughout the UK to provide this vital bed-to-bed service using aeroplanes. We provide funding, state-of-the-art medical equipment and training for medical staff, to ensure transformational outcomes for children and their families. We are proud that as a result of our air transfers children have been discharged from long hospital stays, overcome diseases like cancer, and received a diagnosis which finally enables their family to gain new support from disease/disability-specific organisations.
Alongside our air transfers, we provide holistic care for the whole family to ensure improved outcomes for both the child and their support network. Each family referred to Lia's Wings receives bespoke support that caters for the individual needs of their child and their family's circumstances. Our support continues for as long as each family needs us.
Who we're looking for
An experienced trust fundraiser with a proven track record in securing five and six-figure grants.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to create engaging applications for prospective funders.
Creativity to identify projects that can be packaged as funding opportunities and create compelling applications.
A team player who can also work autonomously and take ownership of allocated projects.
