A recent successful fundraising campaign, in partnership with Rontec Roadside Retail and Pennies, raised an incredible charitable donation of over £25,000 for Lia’s Wings.
Watford-based Rontec is one of the leading players in the UK forecourt industry, with 266 roadside retail forecourts across England and Wales under the Esso, BP and Shell brands. In collaboration with Pennies, the digital micro-donation platform, customers were encouraged to support Lia’s Wings with small, yet impactful donations at the point of sale.
This campaign lasted for one month and in that time Rontec Roadside Retail raised an incredible £25,289.76 for Lia’s Wings.
We were blown away by the generosity of Rontec’s customers. Charlotte Young, CEO of Lia’s Wings, said:
“Thanks to the generosity of Rontec and its customers, through the convenience of digital giving facilitated by Pennies, the incredible amount raised could fund two life-changing Lia’s Wings air ambulance transfers for critically ill children. This is an amazing donation and makes a vital contribution to our charity’s work. On behalf of the families that we exist for, thank you. Every 30p that each customer donated mattered, it shows that when we come together, we can make an enormous difference.”
We were delighted when Rontec approached our charity with this brilliant campaign. A spokesperson for Rontec said:
“We choose to support small charities, like Lia’s Wings, as they do not get the recognition that they deserve”.
Not only did the campaign raise vital funds for our charity, but it also spread awareness of our charity’s service – this is incredibly important to our small charity.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed towards this amazing fundraising campaign.
