Launching new partnerships at ‘Networking with a Purpose’

Our first-ever networking fundraiser raised an incredible total and celebrated the launch of new partnerships with three leading legal firms, helping us support more families when they need it most.

Networking with a Purpose was hosted by our three legal partners, Fletchers Solicitors, HCC Solicitors and Hugh James.

Professionals from across the North West came together at Revolution de Cuba in Manchester for ‘Networking with a Purpose’, our inaugural fundraising networking event. Hosted in collaboration with our generous legal partners, HCC Solicitors, Hugh James, and Fletchers Solicitors, the evening was filled with connection, conversation, and generosity, raising an incredible £2,760 for Lia’s Wings. Thanks to their support in sponsoring the entire event, every penny raised will help us fly more children to the specialist care they need.

The event also marked the official launch of our partnerships with these three leading UK law firms, who share our passion for supporting families through the most difficult times. Through this collaboration, our families will be able to access free, confidential legal advice and support when they need it. Whether it’s understanding their options, receiving practical guidance, or finding reassurance, our partners aim to make every conversation clear and supportive, ensuring families can focus on what truly matters: their children.

Rosie McKnight, Business Development Executive for the Fletchers Solicitors, said:

“Fletchers is pleased to support Lia's Wings in their mission to provide vital air transfers for seriously ill children. We're proud to play a part in their journey and are committed to helping the charity continue its crucial work in securing better outcomes for families across the UK.”

Deborah Sleightholme, Partner & Head of Strategic Relationships at Hugh James, said:

“Our partnership with Lia’s Wings builds on our shared commitment to supporting families at times of profound challenge. The charity’s work in ensuring critically ill children can access the specialist care they need, wherever that may be, is both inspiring and essential. Through this collaboration, we aim to help raise awareness of the service and strengthen the network of professionals and partners who can connect families to this vital support.”

Martin James, Director at Horwich Cohen Coghlan (HCC Solicitors), added:

“HCC is honoured to support Lia’s Wings and the extraordinary work they do to save the lives of babies and children while supporting families through their most difficult moments. No parent should ever have to see their child airlifted to hospital, but it’s reassuring to know Lia’s Wings are there to help when most needed.”

Beyond providing expert legal advice, our partners continue to fundraise and volunteer for Lia’s Wings, from sponsoring our London to Paris Cycle and Ride for Lia 2025 to taking part in half marathons and jumping into Shark Tanks, amongst many other incredible challenge events. Their ongoing generosity and shared belief in our mission mean we can reach more families and fly more children to the vital care they need.

On behalf of everyone at Lia’s Wings, we would like to say a huge thank you again to our partners for their fantastic, continued support, and we know that together with HCC Solicitors, Hugh James and Fletchers Solicitors, we are building a stronger network of care and support for families across the UK.
