We have a new base at Biggin Hill Airport!

We’re delighted to share an exciting milestone for our charity: the opening of our new base at London Biggin Hill Airport. This new facility will help us support our growing operations and continue providing vital care for children and families.

Being based at London Biggin Hill Airport helps us build closer links with the aviation community and benefit from being part of a well-established aviation environment.

Charlotte Young, Chief Operating Officer at Lia’s Wings, said:

“Having a base at Biggin Hill Airport is a much-needed and important step forward for Lia’s Wings. Our new space complements our existing service base located at Bristol Airport with Gama Aviation, giving us broader reach and increased flexibility to facilitate our service, reflecting our commitment to deliver both a truly national and international service for British children needing an aeroplane air ambulance transfer. In addition, we are a charity that is committed to partnering with the aviation industry and we greatly value the expertise that resides within this sector, it therefore makes sense for us to have an office space where we can meet with different stakeholders to not only share learnings, but also to showcase the work that we do, in an environment that reflects our core purpose. We look forward to welcoming many of you to our friendly, warm and inspiring new base over the weeks, months and years to come.”

Our base is located right next to the hangar, and our commercial partner, Skycare Repatriation, bringing our operations together in one place, creating even stronger collaboration between teams.

The new facility has a bright, modern office space and a comfortable area where our medical teams can rest and prepare between air transfers, all conveniently located beside the hangar.

This is an important step in supporting the continued growth and resilience of our operations. By investing in dedicated facilities, we’re making sure we can continue facilitating life-changing air transfers and support to every child and family who needs us.
